What the app does

ToLet Scanner helps tenants scan To-Let board images, detect text with OCR, extract Indian mobile numbers, and open the phone dialer manually.

Information we collect

If you create an account, we store your email address and mobile number in your private Firebase profile. When you choose to save a scan, we store the detected phone number, selected house type, exact board location, scan source, status, timestamp, and your Firebase user ID in a private saved lead.

For nearby discovery, the app also stores a public-safe summary with house type, coarse approximate location, scan source, freshness status/counts, and timestamp. Public summaries do not include phone numbers, exact coordinates, raw OCR text, images, or your Firebase user ID.

If you save a lead to Shortlisted, we store that lead, your private note, and your visit/contact status under your account. If you vote on lead freshness, we store your vote so you can update it later.

Images and OCR text

Board images are used only as temporary input for OCR. Camera captures created by the app are deleted after processing. Gallery images are read for OCR only and are not modified or stored by us. Raw OCR text is shown locally in the app but is not stored in the public nearby-scan database.

How information is used

Private saved scan data is used to show signed-in users nearby To-Let contacts and exact board locations. Public summaries are used to show guests limited cards such as house type, approximate distance, and freshness status. Shortlisted notes and visit status help you revisit leads. Account data is used to let you sign in, recover access, and manage your account.

Account deletion

You can delete your account from the Account screen. This removes your private profile, your contributed saved scans, associated public summaries, private interests, freshness votes, and your Firebase Authentication account. If you no longer have access to the app, you can use the account deletion help page to request deletion. Verified deletion requests are handled within 30 days.

Third-party services

The app uses Firebase, Google Cloud Run, and Google Cloud Vision OCR. These services process data needed to provide authentication, database, hosting, and OCR features.
